Giving Back to our Young Fans
Two weeks on the road can be a rewarding, productive and busy time in the curling world. It can also get you distracted or can be a bit lonely as you spend a lot of that time waiting in planes, hotels and places pretty far from the comforts of the ice or your own home.
Earlier this month we announced we'd give back to one lucky junior or little rocker curler for posting on our Facebook fan page about why they love the game. We offered up one of Rachel's game worn signed jerseys to the winner of the random draw. The results of that idea actually helped us as a team in this recent long travel span. We read each of the posts from our young fans on our Facebook page either under the original post, posted to our timeline or through the other means they made their way to us.
They were all very inspiring and helped fill the down time we had from Camrose to Yorkton and home to Ottawa.
Because of that we couldn't draw just one name from the over 100 entries we received so we decided instead to randomly give away signed jerseys to five of our amazing young fans who entered.
We encourage everyone to read through some of the entries found here. Comments from young curlers who have found the game has boosted their self confidence to comments from those who keep at the game despite local youth curling programs not being offered in their area -- we read and were moved by each of these messages and more.

We can appreciate the hard work you're putting in as young curlers. We were all there just a few years ago. Stick with the dream, work hard and we'll see you at future Scotties, Briers and Grand Slams!
