The Tour Challenge is underway this week in Pictou County, Nova Scotia. This is the second stop on the Grand Slam of Curling.

The Tour Challenge features 15 of the world’s top women’s teams and 15 of the top men’s teams competing in the Tier 1 side of the event. The Tour Challenge also includes 16 women’s teams and 16 men’s teams in the Tier 2 division.

Our pool included Teams Rocque, Yoshimura, Jones and Fujisawa. We picked up wins in our first two games against Team Rocque and Yoshimura before dropping our next two games against Teams Jones and Fujisawa. We then played Team Jones again in a tiebreaker and lost in an extra end. Tickets for the weekend playoffs are still on sale here. Television coverage of this event continues on Sportsnet.

There’s still time to enter the BOOST Team Homan VIP Experience. There’s no purchase necessary and the prizes are amazing. We had a chance to meet lots of curling fans who enjoy BOOST at our last Grand Slam event. Thanks to BOOST for hosting a meet and greet autograph session in North Bay.

Between Grand Slam events we spent the week practicing with our coach Marcel. Thanks to Gabriel Pizza, a partner with our annual Team Homan junior curling camp, for hosting us for a great Saturday evening dinner at their Crust & Crate Lansdowne location! It was great to recharge during a busy fall season over great food and service at Lansdowne. Thanks to Curst & Crate for the evening out!
