We’re back in beautiful Las Vegas for the 2016 WFG Continental Cup of Curling! Often called curling’s version of golf’s Ryder Cup, we’re lucky enough to be attending this event for the third consecutive year.

This year we’ll be teamed up with our friends on Teams Jennifer Jones, Erika Brown, Pat Simmons, Kevin Koe and John Shuster to form Team North America. Our Captain is Ann Swisshelm and Coach Rick Lang.

We’ll compete against Team World which consists of Teams Eve Muirhead, Alina Patz, Ayumi Ogasawara, Niklas Edin, Thomas Ulsrud, Zang Jialiang with Captain Andy Kapp and Coach Pal Trulsen.

NORTH AMERICA vs. WORLD

29.5 - 30.5

The Continental Cup includes different curling formats. There’s the traditional women’s and men’s games (18 different matchups) along with skins games (6 different matchups) and mixed doubles matches. With mixed doubles growing in popularity ahead of its Olympic debut in 2018, this year there are 9 matchups and the singles skills competition has been dropped.

Every matchup at the Orleans Arena is worth points that get awarded to the larger team.  The first team to 31 points is the winner.  Team North America is looking to keep the streak going as we have won the last three years (2015 featured Canada vs. World/Europe).

TSN has full coverage of the event.  The later matchups are not announced until closer to game time so stay tuned into our social channels and we’ll do our best to keep fans informed throughout the weekend.

Here's our early schedule:

Thursday, January 14th

We’ll depart Vegas on Sunday evening to return to Brampton to kick off the Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Monday.  It’s another busy stretch of curling for us and we’d like to thank all of our fans, sponsors and families for helping motivate us through this run.
