Players' Championship in Toronto
Thanks to the volunteers, sponsors and fans who made the 25th anniversary of the Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling Westjet Player's Championship another success. The Players' is always an exciting stop on the tour and another great chance to play in front of an Ontario crowd.
We didn't get the result we were looking for in the playoffs but got off to a good start in the event after returning home from Worlds and the Canadian Mixed Doubles.
We went 4-1 through the qualification before losing out in the quarter finals.
Our next event is the Humpty's Champions Cup, the final stop on the Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling.
Around Our House
Congratulations to our Joanne Courtney who with Reid Carruthers captured the 2017 Canadian Mixed Doubles Championship last weekend in Saskatoon. Joanne and Reid are now off to represent Canada at the Worlds in Lethbridge later this month. We have picked up Sarah Wilkes to fill in for Jo at the upcoming Grand Slam of Curling Humpty's Champions Cup.
Our 2nd annual Team Homan Junior Curling Camp has opened for registration. This year's camp will be taking place at the Ottawa Curling Club giving us more space for campers but we're already half full! Register here.
This upcoming Tuesday, April 18th the City of Ottawa, Mayor Watson and the Ottawa Curling Club will host a civic celebration for our World title. The public is welcome to attend the noon-hour rally at City Hall.
Best of luck to the Ottawa Senators in their opening series of the NHL playoffs. The Sens have been longtime supporters of our rink.
