Our lead Lisa Weagle, teamed up with Brad Gushue, Cathy Overton-Clapham, E.J. Harnden, captured the first ever Everest Curling Challenge.
The $200,000 winners-take-all event featured the best women's and men's teams in the world being split into mixed teams to compete in a single-knockout format.
Team Gushue advanced to the final after victories over our skip Rachel's new look team and Team Brad Jacobs.
Sunday's final, featuring Teams Gushue and Epping on TSN, came down to the final stone after a textbook eighth end which saw our lead make two perfect ticks to setup the open end. Gushue hit one of Epping's counters in the four foot with only inches of room for error.
The win marked one of the sport's largest payouts in an exciting new event.

We'd like to thank Everest, TSN, the volunteers in Fredericton and all of the fans. This was a truly unique event for the fans and players and a perfect way to start such a big season.
Our next event starts right after Labour Day and takes us to Regina, Saskatchewan. We'll compete in the Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling Tour Challenge Tier 1 from September 5th - 10th.
Around Our House
We announced our season schedule with stops across Ontario, the west and of course our big hometown event in December.
Team Homan Junior Curling Camp is fast approaching with a sold-out roster of 80 curlers from across the globe. The second annual camp runs Sept 22nd-24th.
Rachel was nominated for 2017 Sportswoman of the Year. Voting has closed with the winners announced in October.
