BOOST National in Newfoundland
Thank you Newfoundland!
We claimed victory in our final event of the calendar year at the BOOST National in Conception Bay South. This was the fourth stop on the season-long Grand Slam of Curling.

The BOOST National featured 15 of the top women’s and men’s teams from around the world. The teams were split into pools of five to play a round robin before the weekend playoffs.
We qualified for the championship final with a 3-1 round robin record and two playoff wins over Teams Harrison and Jones. Our pool consisted of Teams Scheidegger, Harrison, Muirhead and Einarson.
In the final we faced Kerri Einarson and her rink from Manitoba. Thanks to a couple of steals in the middle part of the game we were able to close the game out and capture our ninth career Grand Slam title with a 4-1 final score.
We won this event in 2015 and this was our third title of the 2018-2019 season.
We have proudly partnered with BOOST since 2017 and we’re thrilled to see BOOST’s support of our team and our sport continue to grow through this event. Ahead of The National we asked our Facebook fans in Newfoundland and Labrador for their favourite curling memory and we received some great answers. Thanks to BOOST for providing eight all event passes to our lucky winners in Newfoundland.
AROUND OUR HOUSE
We had a good run last week at the Canada Cup of Curling in Estevan, SK. We came up short in the semifinal but finished the event with a 5-3 record. Thanks to the fans and volunteers in Saskatchewan for being welcome hosts for an intense week of curling.
A big thank you goes out to all of our fans who supported our efforts to help the Sandra Schmirler Foundation on Giving Tuesday. Thanks to your generosity we were able to donate over $1,600 to help babies born in crisis with our auction winners receiving one of our Canada Cup signed jerseys. Thank you!
