Grand Slam of Curling Tour Challenge
We toured into Thunder Bay this week for the latest stop on the Grand Slam of Curling where we picked up our eighth title.
The Tour Challenge started last Tuesday at the Tournament Centre with 15 Tier 1 women’s teams facing off in three pools. There were another 15 women’s teams invited to the Tier 2 event to compete separately.
We ran through the round robin with a perfect record. In the playoffs we got past Teams Walker, Roth and finally Fleury in the final to capture the title.
This was our team’s eighth Grand Slam title and our second in six months.
We want to send a huge thank you to the supportive fans and all of the volunteers in Thunder Bay. We love any chance we can get to play in Ontario or Northern Ontario.
All throughout the Tour Challenge we contributed to the Grand Slam of Curling’s Instagram stories. We encourage you to follow the Grand Slam of Curling to get a peek at how we spent time off the ice at the event.
In case you missed our blog posts from the last Grand Slam of Curling, you’re going to want to check them out.
Lisa reflected on the importance of the series to women’s curling in her blog post.
Joanne detailed her recent successful weekend with her dad in mixed doubles. Emma let fans in on how we spend our days on the Grand Slam - when we’re not on the ice.
Rachel capped off our blogging for the GSOC by detailing the last time we were in Truro and all of the drama that ensued. It’s a must read!
Around Our House
We spent our Monday with Egg Farmers of Ontario and a film crew around Ottawa. We’re looking forward to revealing what we worked on a bit later this fall!
Ontario curlers and fans of the game still have time to enter BrokerLink’s incredible contest. You could win a trip to Las Vegas to watch us and the rest of Team North America take on Team World at the 2019 WFG Continental Cup of Curling.
