Welcome Tracy Fleury to the Team

Team Homan is absolutely thrilled to announce Tracy Fleury will be joining our team commencing the 2022/23 season. Tracy joins us from skipping her team at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts five times representing three different regions. Most recently, Team Fleury placed second at the 2021 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials. Her first appearance at the national women’s curling championship was as Ontario in 2012, where Team Homan full circle met Fleury in the provincial final. Northern Ontario was granted its own berth to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in 2015 and Tracy became the first to represent the region at the event. Fleury has also won two Grand Slam of Curling titles (2019 & 2021 Masters).

“I can’t tell you how excited I am for Tracy to join our team,” said Rachel. “We have battled on the ice for years, and I have always respected her game. She’s an absolute competitor and to have Tracy join us brings even more experience to our team. I can’t wait to compete with Tracy and the team next season.”

“To get the call to join Rachel, Emma and Sarah was an opportunity that I could not turn down,” said Tracy. “This team has been on top for years, and I am so grateful to play with these ladies for the next quadrennial and represent Ontario.”

Over the next few weeks, the team will be deciding on what the exact lineup will look like but at this time we can confirm Emma Miskew and Sarah Wilkes will be playing front end. “Emma and I have played together for two decades, and to have her be there right before I throw my rocks is going to be incredible,” said Homan. “Emma and Sarah are really good sweepers and I think they’ll be a great front end together.” Rachel and Tracy will be playing back end, but how exactly will that look next season? You’ll just have to wait to find out! We’ll be having team discussions on what lineup could work best for everyone and you’ll likely see us trying different positions when we hit the ice together next fall.
